MSMEs in Karnataka burdened by double taxation; The Minister of Industry assures the resolution

Bangalore, 5 Feb. (KNN) Local Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) with units in Nanjangud, Mysuru district of Karnataka face the burden of double property taxation and continue to lack proper service and poor civic facilities in industrial facilities.

This issue was raised during a stakeholder meeting with Industry Minister Murugesh Nirani on Friday.

The absence of an industrial waste recycling plant in Mysuru was also brought to the minister’s attention.

ASSatish, Chairman of Mysore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) highlighted this issue and said: Industries pay taxes in lakhs to local bodies and we can clearly see that this is having a huge impact on SSI units. .

Stakeholders and industrialists have emphasized creating a one-stop-shop to help solve problems related to industrial zones.

The Minister also noted that large tracts of land granted at a subsidized rate are not being utilized, therefore, they will be clawed back by the government and new investors will be allocated.

Members of the MSME Council, Mysuru Industrial Zone Manufacturers Association and Kadakola Industrial Association were present at the meeting. (KNN Office)
