Has this ever happened to anyone where they got negative tests but ended up being pregnant because they ovulated later? I’m currently 2 days late on my period and that’s pretty abnormal for me since I’m on time every single month I haven’t had any stressors in my life right now haven’t been sick so I’m just curious if I should test again or just wait for my period?

Had my baby in May 2023 but when I took a test the day of my missed period it was negative. It was also negative 7 days after my missed period. I didn't get a positive until 9 days after my missed period and honestly the only reason I tested that day is because I had blood work done and it showed up in my blood work that I was pregnant.
I was feeling very off and unwell before my missed period though, it was so weird that it took so long for me to get a positive.

TW: pregnancy loss...
It can happen. If you wait a 3-5 days after your missed period, there's better chances of getting a positive. I know the desire to test early, though. with my May 2023 baby, I tested at 7 dpo and got a faint positive (6 days before my missed). But with my 1st pregnancy, I was like 7 days late, still getting a negative, but KNEW I was pregnant. It ended up not being viable.
However, it is possible that you ovulated later than you thought and therefore your period isn't late just yet. Test again if you don't start in 2 days.
Were you checking for O? What tests are you using? some are way more sensitive than others.

are you testing using your first pee in the morning? If I remember right your urine is usually most concentrated with the pregnancy hormones then so you're more likely to get a positive if you're pregnant
